So, as of right now, the 3040 will be my favorite with my Paragon Plus mount on it.
I've changed my favorite to the Bogen 3050 with Orion Paragon Plus mount. The 3050 is more gangly but it is more stable.

Could we get a few more pictures of this mount?
Very nice.
Any details as to how you built it?
Thanks

Being a Photographer I have many tripods and heads at my disposal and currently favour the 501 with a slow pan video head. Also, by configuring the head to a vertical orientation, I have had a lot of success with the Manfrotto 322RC2 grip ball head in the past using 15 x 70 bins.
However I’m off on holiday to a very dark site, a small Greek island which you can only access via ferry, which means that heavy tripods are probably out. Therefore I was wondering, has any one ever tired clamping a magic arm to the back of a chair? http://www.teamworkphoto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11712 I realise that there will be some vibration issues but thought they might be a light weight alternative to a tripod…
