Here is my favorite travel refractor. An AP 155 EDF on an old AP 600E (non GOTO) mount. This picture was taken up in the Santa Ynez Mtns. in S. California.

Andy,
I like the AR5, I think it will be a great scope once I get an eq mount. My homemade mount is ok, but needs improvements. Those improvements will come once I get out of college for the summer.

This is my dual solar setup. PST Double stacked + WO 66. On Manfratto 410 geared head sitting on a Scopestuff plate.
The 66 also does terrestial duties - had it a trip to the Oregon coast earlier this month and it was great for scanning the ocean spotting grey whale blows.

This is a SV80ED on a M1+Bogen 3246.
Great for those work night 1-2 hour sessions.
Scope is excellent and I have to say I won't use the 66 for night viewing as an 80 does show alot more - closer to 100ed.

OK, I have admitted to my wife that my astronomy hobby, just two years old, is abit of an addiction or midlife thing -something, but it hasn't approached the cost of Harley, classic car, or anything like that - she is pretty understanding - plus we all go to TMSP as a family. I've got it pretty good astronomy-wise.
