That's some serious glass you have there, Larry!
By the way, if no one's said so up to now, welcome to Cloudy Nights! It's good to have you here!

Here's a picture of my Stellarvue SV90TBV on a pre-production Half Hitch Mount. I haven't had a chance to use it yet with its new mount, but it seems promising. Can't wait - Clear Skies... Jack

I had one a while ago and sold, for who knows why. I only got to look at Saturn last night and it look pretty good. Very sharp with my 17mm Stratus. I tried my 11mm Nagler, but the skies were not real good. Once I get a good mount, I'll be able to do a better report on the scope.

Well I'll start with the small stuff.
This is a 1986 AP 130 F6. It uses the famous "NASA Glass". I updated it with a new backplate and AP 2.7" focuser which I think really makes it look great. The lens is exceptionally sharp and CA is quite well controlled for such a fast scope. With and without the telecompressor (F4) it makes an outstanding telephoto lens
The lens edge is signed and dated by Roland.

Hi,
the optics are AMAZING, really, as they are made with abnormal dispersion glass from LZOS. They optics are made in Russia and put into CF tubes in Italy. They are rare and I understand why....they are very difficult to make. It was very difficult to find those 2 even here in Europe.
The 130mm is a quadruplet design and the 76mm is a triplet. Can I post here the spot diagrams?
Catalin.

Since...On several notes...we have a new crop of enthusiastic posting members, and that this thread has been given its second wind....I'll not feal overly pushy if I post an image of my classic scopes at their home at...Gold Mtn Observing Center. In Washington state.

Hi,
here are the spot diagrams for my Astreya's.
Hope that you'll like it.
I want to mention that the focal shift for the 76mm lens is 57 microns and for the 130mm lens is 65 microns so they are very well suited for astropictures.

Getting on in years, but still keeping up with the best, (I'm not biased of course )my largest refractor is this 1992 AP180EDT f/9 with Feathertouch focuser. The Anssen Alhena mount is also from 1992, and carries the telescope with ease. The mobile pier was fabricated by myself and a mate, the third wheel detaches simply and screw jacks then stabilize. Its a magnificent thing, and a real pleasure to use.
