Does this mean my lovely AR5 Solar rig is consigned to the trash? members remarked about what a cool set-up it was.

CN is a great source of ideas. Until Mike told me his secret of throwing away the pot & using only the handles, I had no idea they would work so well. Gotta think out-of-the-box.
But get your pots from a restaurant supply store. Williams Sonoma is a little too pricey!

Well Lets See If the Third Times A Charm.
This Will Be The Third Meade AR-5 I Have Owned. The First Two I Sold Before Giving Them Hardly Any Use.
This Third One I Am Planning On It Anchoring My Observatory Scopes.
And For The First Time I Am The Proud Owner Of A MoonLite Focuser.I had owned a Couple Of GSO Focusers Before,But Now I See What All The Praise Is About With MoonLite Focusers.Silky Smooth Is The Phrase That Comes To Mind.

My scope has been through a war and back. I think the AR5 is pretty bullet proof for a scope!!!
I have had many scopes, and this one visually has it all... well... for what I need. Most of my time is with my pst, but when the 5" comes out... I go all night star hopping for the deep stuff, and it does not dissapoint.
I keep wondering if I need a bigger mount?

Beautiful! refractors Everyone , every time i visit this thread i have to pick my jaw up off the floor.
Here`s my two refractors.. A D60mm F800mm JCPenney refractor, its the one that started it all, Actually its identical to the one that started it all, My Great friend Walter " NGC6475 " sold this one to me a couple years back. Behind it is the Takahashi FSQ106ED on a G11.

And here`s one shot showing a Masuyama 25mm-W coupled to the FSQ, some of the Masuyamas have a 37.5mm thread just under the eyepiece body.

Dave,
I hope you get the Tak out under the stars tonight and get some good views in. When I saw the pic, I wanted to let out a hearty Jabba the Hut laugh.
