Neat photo, Siegfried!
What a difference a few "f" numbers make in the OTA length and the necessary mounting hardware.
Thanks, Rich

Nice FS128 kit, Sam! That got to be an NSV looking at the OTA length and the lens cap.
Oh man I loved my FS128. I could hold that thing with one hand and cooldown was like 10-20 minutes no matter what.
Very observant Mike!
Yes, that's an NSV version. And you are dead-on about the weight and cool-down. I thought I'd be compromising those when I moved up from the FS-102 but it's like I gained an inch without losing any convenience.
I know I won't be as lucky if/when I move up to a 6" so I think I'll hold on to this one a long, long time. Sam

that looming reflector sort of looks angry and jealous!
And I'm NOT going to pressure Pollux again about selling all that and buying a bigger TEC, not going to do it!

Looks like the mount will handle the scope though.

Last night was first light for the 6" f/17.5. Tonight was a better night so I set it up again and also the 160mm TEC. The two scopes are very close in performance. Optically I would give an ever so slight edge to the 160.
Holy cow..is this the first ever Yuri vs Barry comparo?
Even in a quickie nutshell it compliments the master optician craftsmanship of both companies. I loved my apos but the classic refractors have that certain "something" that appeals to the old-school and traditional side of me.
Thanks for the first-light Sigfried...I skip a few days of CN and almost missed it! And let that be a lesson to the rest of ya

Hi,
Not my first refractor, (or scope) But I am new proud owner of a Stellarvue SV102ED2. Just received it today from a dealer on MD. Thanks Gary! Cannot wait to look through this thing tonight. It was raining a bit ago, but has cleared up. June Pittsburgh weather can change twice till 10pm, when its dark(ish). Storm, clear and storm again.
This is my second refractor and I am sold. The crisp clarity and contrast is amazing. I've had 4 SCTs. (actually 3rd refractor if you count the 2" refractor I had in 1967.)
Until I move out to darker skies I am a refractor man.
Hope you like the photo.

Thanks Zack! I remember reading about you getting a Megrez on ebay a year or more ago... what happened?
Yes, Ohio gets our weather hours before us. Please email me and let me know of clear skies. JK!

I traded the Megrez 110m back in August. I wish had not traded that scope.
