If by TV85 you mean AP130 f/8.35 in the CNC tube, I agree.

Rob, Thanks! You speak the truth!

Hi Rick-- That's a sweet-looking, versatile, and potent TV85 setup! I know because I have its twin--in forest green color--at my house as my grab-n-go rig. Everything goes out the door together in one trip, and it takes minutes to fire up the SkyTour and be observing. Bet you use your's that way too? Clear Skies.

Interesting, I would have thought "most handsome" refractor would be a very subjective thing.
But the TV85 is definitely my second fave, right behind the AP130 f/8.35. I think it must be a flared-tube thing (although I suppose it's a flared lens cell in the TV's case)....

Jeff,
I think alike. I also consider the AP130 f/8.35 as the best looking and functional apo out there. It's just made from Unobtanium !

And, just to keep on topic, Rob and I will have to make do with our FC-76 and FC-100 until we can talk someone out of their AP130. Not a bad consolation prize, though....

seriously though... a TV scope... on a TV mount... with a pair of TV eps in a TV bino... is also "top of the food chain".

Here's my trusty old 101mm f/5.4 Tele Vue refractor and yours truly at the second Green Bank Star Quest. The fellow on the right is my observing pal Tony Donnangelo and the telescope behind us is his 14.5" f/4.3 Starmaster Sky Tracker Dob. The 110 meter Robert C. Byrd radio telescope dish can be seen in the background.

This is my venerable 80mm Orion f/5 ShortTube achromat, the first in a collection of fast refractors that for reasons beyond my comprehension I somehow managed to acquire. This is the photo that appeared in my chapter on the ST80 in the book Astronomy with Small Telescopes.

Wow! What a great time wasting thread! So many cool setups. Amazed that after 31 pages nobody has posted a photo of an AP Traveler so let me be the first!
This is the setup I used for the past couple of years as I just couldn't bear to use a 1200GTO for a Traveler "grab & go" setup. I mean you really don't even need the counterweight shaft never mind an actual counterweight!
I designed and manufacture the Counterweight Shaft adapter for the Modified TeeGul btw.
Didn't use it much as I am a spoiled GOTO brat so I finally made a deal to trade my 1200GTO (plus some cash! YES!) for a Mach1 GTO. I sold the TeelGul and the tripod setup to finance the Eagle 6" Pier as well.
I just love my Traveler and I put it up there in the best looking refractor ever category!

With a small adjustment, you might get M110 in the eyepiece.

That photo was pretty much the end of my astrophotography pursuits. It's a 9 panel mosaic using the Astro-Physics FastMax 235 MakNewt and an SBIG ST-10. It took over 3 months to get all the exposures.
Something had to give, my "hobby" (ie. OCD) or my marriage.
We just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary this month so you know which one won that battle!
