I have locked the previous version of the "Post a Pic of Your Refractor(s)! thread since it was already up to 215 pages by my count. So, I'm re-starting the thread and posting a picture of a few of mine here.
Here are my SV80S and Brandon sitting next to each other on a night of observing.

Yes I do, but in my backyard the shadow of my house provide a nice lightshed to get off all of that bad pollution sodium light that views on in front of my house. That´s why I do observe most of my time in my backyard instead of my frontyard with my Apo and my Dob.
For really take advantange of the 10" aperture of my dob I do travel to the beach almost two hours and that´s not happen very often...........

Wow, what a pic Ron. But seriously, I think that's you, getting ready to putt. You photoshopped yourself onto a long exposure Milky Way image, as well as the scope. Then, you drew the laser in, like George Lucas did in his films.

Actually, Terry got the shot on the first attempt. Tripod-mount the camera, open the shutter, wave a red light around for illumination, turn the laser on for about 15 seconds, and close the camera shutter after about 30 seconds total exposure. Not bad for a one-shot deal.

Here is my C6R after the installation of the Moonlight focuser. If that wasn't enough, they gave me the dual rate focuser at no additional charge. I don't know if they always do that, but it was a nice surprise! The scope was purchased used, so it has it's share of battle scars, but overall it is in excellent shape.
I have about 2 lbs of magnetic weights so I will still probably add a little more weight to the focuser end if needed. Forgive the mess in my garage. Spring cleaning has not officially begun yet.

Nice scope, Trever. The Moonlight is sweet.
Does the Moonlight focuser come with two dovetails standard?
Funny aside about 9x50 finderscopes...you cannot purchase a Celestron-branded 9x50 finderscope with a stalk for use on a refractor, only with a mount designed for Newt/Mak/SC. No Celestron RACI finderscopes either.

The standard focuser from Moonlight only has the one dovetail for the finders I believe. The dual rate focusers have the added fine focusing ability and the twin dovetails for the finders. I could be wrong, but I believe that is how it works.
I had to take a hacksaw and cut off the lip of metal that was on the finder stalk to allow it to fit the Moonlight focuser. Otherwise, it would not fit.

Just put these on the Atlas EQ-G. Haven't been out with them yet... still waiting on Mother Nature's permission to do so. These are the Meade AR-6 and Orion ST-120 on the Atlas in my garage. Don't mind the disheveled little creature beside the scopes!

Thanks for your comment . Unfortunatly the blue scope still does not work, something is still wrong with the optics, and the big white one has one purpose, straight through viewing with a 26mm possl. The Nighthawk is a joy to use, except a little focuser slip and dewshield slip.

Too bad about the blue scope, Zach. Did you test the lens before installing it into the cell?

I did not test it, but I did make sure the lenses were inserted the correct way. I might buy another lens from surplusshed and see if that will fix the problem.

Here's my new setup - a real starhopper's delight: My W.O. EZ Touch alt/az head arrived and I've mounted a ST-80 beside my C100ED. The ST-80 makes a great super-finder which I really need in my light polluted backyard. I mounted the EZ Touch on a short pier (actually cut down from a 16" pier). Note also the extreme cost cutting measures employed by using a little piece of wood to mount the ST-80, instead of the W.O. mounting plates. My wife must be soooo pleased by all the money I've saved!!!

Still waiting for that 105 SDP
Another interesting note. Remember I said I gave up on the TSA-102? That scope is still no show. ETA keeps slipping and slipping.
If the 105SDP shows up before the TSA I am going to laugh hard...
By the way, if I can find a good deal (when I say good deal it HAS to be good) on the Pentax 125 SDP I am willing to sell half of my stuff for it

Ooooh...I've been working on that.
At this point I will say the Meade 102ED has noticably better CA suppression than the Genesis SDF, most noticable on on the luner limb. Genesis is a bit more compact in size and has a wider field of view F/5.4 vs F/9, respectfully. Views of Saturn were similar, though if push came to shove the Meade would edge out the TeleVue.
I have not had the Genesis at a dark site and that's where it will shine(fun factor) with it's wide field capability.
I'am holding on to both ota's at the present time, unless I go nuts and sell both off(among other items) for a NP-101.

The customizations are the retractable dewshield, the mount ring, the WO focuser and the paintjob.

I did not test it, but I did make sure the lenses were inserted the correct way. I might buy another lens from surplusshed and see if that will fix the problem.
The YUCK factor from surplus shed. My 90mm F10 objective from them WAS bassackwards in the cell and the cell was glued shut. So I had to remount the cell backwards. This almost fixed my problem. What was left was to align the cell square with the tube (needed a chesire to do that) and get some decent eyepieces. I'll post a photo soon, though in work photos are already up in other threads.

Here's my first foray into the refractor side of the universe, a Celestron 102 f/5. Just got it this afternoon, and waiting for night...(tick..tock..tick..tock)
I took a few pics of it next to it's big step-brother, my Obsession 15 (see next post below). Quite a difference in aperture, as you can see, but I have a feeling that the little guy will be getting used a LOT more than the reflector. I never thought I'd want a small grab-n-go, but realizing that I only take out the Obsession (to a dark sky site) on average of once per month, I figured I could use one.
PS..please, no comments about the 'expensive' mount! Actually one of the reasons I decided on this scope was the tripod-ready adapter. I'm sure I'll upgrade soon, but for now, this will have to do.

Aah. South Pacific Star party. What images that invokes. Makes me weep. At least it's Spring and I can look forward to warm evenings, gentle breezes...

Hi,
Lately I've been more of a lurker on this site. I got a new to me ST80a about two months ago. I finally got a chance to get a decent mount for it. It's the Orion Astroview mount that came with my Astroview 6" f5 reflector.
I had to make an adapter to get it onto the mount. My Astroview is the older style mount that does not accept a dovetail. My brother helped me trim the edges so it would sit flat on the mounting plate. We even had clear skies to test it under last night! I wanted to show him Saturn, but did not have my barlow with to get the power up high enough to make out the rings.
Anyways, here it is, enjoy!
