Help Save A Star Party!
      #2297200 - 04/01/08 11:16 AM

I have been camped at the base of a small hill in Central Mississippi since Saturday afternoon waiting for the skies to clear for the Mid-South Star Gaze. It started to briefly clear last night for the first time, as the team from Las Cumbres Observatory was tweaking the new 0.65M RC scope on the hilltop. But then it clouded out and I returned to my trailer in time to pick up Rich's debut broadcast. I quickly grabbed my laptop and went to the library to allow others to experience Sky Channels, but everyone had gone to bed.

If anyone has a blue CSC and will be broadcasting tonight, let me know and I will try to have our group join in.

Help Save A Star Party! new [Re: Jack Huerkamp]

PS. In looking at the Weather Channel and all the online weather services, it is looking like the rest of the week will be a washout. So if anyone around the world will be broadcasting between today and thursday night, I could attempt to share the event with them. My buddy with the satellite internet is leaving on Friday.

I might give it a go tonight. nice and blue, BUT supposed to be really windy, so seeing may be sub-optimal...

Jack,

I'm watching my weather, if it clears I will broadcast using my 30" and MallinCam. If I broadcast I will start around 8:00PM PST from my light polluted driveway.

Sorry Jack,
I'm still cloudy....
I will try tomorrow night, Thursday, but I can't start broadcasting till 10:00pm PST.
If that will work for you and your group, then I'll stay up late because I don't have to work on Friday.

greg, oddly enough, things cleared out here at MSSG around sunset, and I (and several others) enjoyed several hours' viewing at Jack's C8 and the Mallincam...

Greg,

Thanks for calling me and offering to host a broadcast for the people at the stargaze last night. It actually was clear last night and we got to observe. So I did not log into your show. Tonight (Thursday) was mainly cloudy with sucker holes. I just helped pack up my scope and get ready for Friday's showers. Hopefully Saturday night will be clear.
