Link to Pictures of Perfect Mallincam Telescope new [Re: richs]

Talk about a perfect MallinCam telescope. I have been working with the people from Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network over the last few days on getting one of their MallinCams set up on the Sangre 25.5" f/7.6 RC telescope. They have installed a focal reducer into the optical path yielding an f/3.3 system speed. This will provide an 11.2' FOV at 267 power on the 25.5" scope. Here are a few images of the scope. The first shows the small finderscope on the main tube assembly, a 6" f/12 Astro Physics APO:

The next shows three of the LCOGTN team along with Jim Hill (with tie) who runs Rainwater Observatory:

The next shows the entire OTA:

Finally an image of the instrument assembly containg the MallinCam:

Dedication of the scope is on Friday. Hopefully we will get a chance to try out the camera on the scope before then, but the weather report is not promising.

Well, I gotta question, (maybe I'm not seeing the right angle) but I can see where the eye piece is, what is giving the camera its image...or will it replace the EP when viewing electronically.

The eyepiece, SBIG1100, MallinCam and spectroscope all reside on a circular platform, and it is easy to quickly rotate into the light path the device desired. All are set up to be parfocal with final focus tweaking done by moving the secondary.
