I just received this scope as a Christmas present from my wife and kids. After several nights viewing, I'm blown away by what you can see as compared to viewing through binoculars and I love this scope.
I've noticed a couple of things however that I've already taken care of. One is the mount does not swing around easily on the legs of the tripod. I disassembled it from the legs and cleaned the sticky grease from all surfaces and replaced it with a good waterproof grease. There was also a large burr on the casting which I gently filed off. This made all the difference in the world.
The focuser rack was also very jerky and had the same sticky grease which I also cleaned and replaced.
The second thing is the mount seems a little on the light side for this scope but I'll have to live with that. Overall this is a great scope for a beginner like myself.

Good scope, lousy mount. Hope you've upgraded it by now.
