I had my first session last night with my new CGEM 1100 HD. This shot was taken piggyback with a 60mm lens of the region around Cassiopeia. 22 minutes of total exposure time.

Well here, I hate to stink the place up, but here is my first picture, M42, 1 45 second exposure from a border red/orange zone...Canon T1i, Meade 10" SCT @ F6.3 on my undermounted CG5 mount. I have about 10 good exposures out of the bunch, just cant figure out a way to stack them on a mac. This is my very first astropic. And wow the jpeg cutdown doesnt give the picture any help either LOL.

Nothing stinky about that image! It looks like an enhanced version of what I can see at the eyepiece.

Well, this is another version, except it's 10 x 45 second exposures stacked in DSS. I don't know which one is better. This one certainly has a cleaner look.

I'd call that a pretty good 45 second exposure.

Yes the smaller image is brighter and cleaner but the larger image has more whispy stuff in it. (more subtle details). In my opinion the first or larger image is better.

This is my first astrophoto ever - taken tonight with a freshly modified Microsoft Lifecam Cinema 720p at prime focus. 112 seconds of 1280x720 AVI at 7 fps stacked with Registax. Seeing was terrible. It was humid and breezy. But this is awesome fun...

I think this is supposed to be for your first photo only, and I already posted that, but I couldn't resist. I am so pleased with this picture considering what I had to work with and it is my first DSO photo - technically my second AP ever. Shot using afocal method with a 2x Barlow and a 32mm lens on my Omni XLT 150 - with a Panasonic DMC-TZ1 point and shoot camera at the eyepiece. I only shot 9 x 60 sec exposures and stacked them in Registax, then a little processing in PSE9. This is so rewarding. I know this isn't the quality that a lot of others get, but I got this with my POCKET CAM!!! I can hardly wait until I hit the lottery so I can buy real equipment...

Here is my first attempt: It is the moon through my Celestron C4.5 with the aperture stopped down to 45mm. The eyepiece is a 25mm Kellner. Surprisingly the image at the eyepiece was clear and very sharp. I used my cel phone held up to the eyepiece to capture this image, which was not easy!
