Here's my first two photos: both of the sun from So Cal. I used a 15x70 binocular that was mounted to project on a piece of cardboard I had laying around. The first is of the annular eclipse in May, and the second is the transit of Venus in June.

All of this inspired me to get a neximage v for my 102 mm mak and start having some fun with the night sky.

Here's the shot of the Venus transit.

I ended up taking both photos on my blackberry.

Hello..
Here is my first astrophoto....
Observing the moon, just want to experiment taking a few shots putting a simple Kodak easyshare 16Mpix digital camera in front on the EP without any mount...

Regards
Mauricio.

Here's my first attempt at deep-space astrophotography since I got a wedge. It's M17. It's not great (I'm not sure why the circular haze is there, but I'm pretty happy with it, especially considering this was taken in New York City.

Celestron CPC 800 with Celestron HD Pro wedge
Prime focus with Nikon d800
80 10" exposures stacked in Deep Sky Stacker

Here's a question-- what is the magnitude of the dimmer stars here? Do you think this technique will be sufficient to capture Pluto if I make images a few days apart?

Greetings,
I have been having some challenges trying to get anything reasonable imaged. But last night I managed this from my backyard even...
Gear used.
Meade 2080 SCT w/Worm drive.
Meade DSI with barlow lens attached.
And processed in Envisage software.

Well, I am new at this. My first photos were atrocious. But, I've been working at it a few weeks using a Questar 3.5" and these are some of the better of the batch.

This is my girlfriend's first astrophoto. She used A skywatcher 102mm F/5 refractor, iOptron SmartEQ 3100 mount, and Canon T1i DSLR. It was also the first time using this mount.

Hi all. Although this is not exactly my first astrophoto, it is definitely the first I am happy with (fairly circular stars; after several trials and errors, I finally managed to have a good enough polar alignment) :P Besides, I figured that this thread is probably the best place to start on the CN forum.
M8 taken with an unmodified Canon 350D attached to a Skywatcher Skymax 102 SynScan and an EQ5 mount (guided with PHD guiding). Stack of 5x300s shots at ISO800 (processed with IRIS).

Hello-
I want to start imaging. To start with I'm interested in wide sky shots, then smaller and smaller. I have a barn door platform and a of dobs. I have a Nikon D200. I have figured out how to set it on bulb. What else will I need know or do? Your help is truly appreciated.

My first pic using my Canon A630 held up to the eyepiece of my new XT8i. Incredible views and stunning result IMO. To say I'm PUMPED is putting it mildly. Probably beginner's luck, but hell, I'LL TAKE IT!
