Started about 3 weeks ago. Got this picture last night at the Shell mound in Cedar Key FL. Stacked in DSS for a total exposure of 4m 20s using a Nikon D40x with just the included lens. Edited to fit the 800px width requirement. Makes it kind of hard to see anything. You can see a little bit of the orion nebula in here.

Second night out with my Celestron 8se. My wife and I got a Nikon D5100, so naturally the first thing I did was point it at M42 for a 15 second exposure. After I got inside I discovered you can zoom way in on the live view which will help in the future. I had to quit because the camera must not have liked the T-ring because it wouldn't recognize a lens as being attached and locked up the controls.

This was a photo with my Iphone taken in Salta, Argentina this year. The guy had his 6" refractor (Bresser) set up in the street on an equatorial mount. We viewed the Moon and he let me take a photo with my IPhone.
I'm quite pleased with the result.

Good evening! A disclaimer to start, this isn't my first astrophoto, but rather my first astro-video, so I am hopeful this will qualify!:-)
Earlier this year I purchased a Canon T4i for regular use and for astrophotography. Well, this particular model also has video capability, too. I remember before purchasing this that a DSLR that does video, too, could be better than using a web cam. I had tried video with this camera on the moon earlier this year, but I didn't have a big lens attached and it was, well, unimpressive. So, here is a link to the video over on YouTube I just took this evening:

It isn't anything special, just the moon, but pretty neat. I removed the audio track and added one of those loops that comes with the video editing software I have. Nothing to the music, but it kind of fits the look with the wisps of clouds moving past the moon.
Simple setup: C8+ (unpowered, just let the moon drift through) and Canon T4i at prime focus for the first part. Second part: C8+ (again, unpowered), Celestron Deluxe Tele-extender, 36mm Plossl, Canon T4i. Was testing out not only the video capability of the camera on the scope, but also my JMI MotoFocus I just stuck on as well.
EDITING NOTE: Just reposted to YouTube...apparently the loops that come in video software are no longer allowed on YouTube or something like that, so my video was blocked to viewers. Quite amazing. So, the link above is the new one. Instead of music, I used MY OWN recording of a thunderstorm from last year as background. Silly.

This is my first AP photo using a Nikon D50 on my Celestron HD ( Gift from my wife...she knew I always wanted a "real" telescope)I atached camera and got this, not great, but I was thrilled.

Okay, here's mine -- taken just now with a Panasonic Lumix GX-1 at prime focus through my daughter's ED80, which she got as a Christmas present. RAW image black level adjusted to remove the halo from the thin cirrus layer that was obscuring things tonight, brightness decreased in Photoshop to improve detail.

Well, this is my first attempt at taking a pic - using an orion 120mm skyview pro with my olypus E-620. 1" unguided. This is Jupiter and 4 of its moons.

I took these pictures a few weeks ago with a T2i. The first was a 15 second exposure, and as soon it, I started taking the second shot, a 5 second exposure. What is the fireball on the right? I could understand a meteor, but not in two shots seconds apart, and certainly not moving in different directions.

To my (very) inexpert eye, it seems likely to be some sort of reflection. There's no bright star in that location, and the other stars aren't blurred.
BTW, it's pretty cool that you can see the four brightest stars in the Trapezium in your photo -- mine are all blown out.

Yeah, anything longer than 15 seconds and it's one big blob. Not quite sure how others manage that. I'll figure it out one of these days though.

This is my first picture a single frame exposure, I was out tonight testing this cheep $89.00 camera
I took 10 stills I was going to try and stack them with deep sky stacker but I did not do very well on the first try
I know more now than I did yesterday...

Just a moon shot, pretty fast: 1/60 iso 100 then blacks brought out a bit in PS
