Managed to have weather and timing work out for a very good view of the "X" effect at Werner, great view with a binoviewer.

Really nice pics!! I've always simply called it the "X on the Moon", then back in 2006 "Lunar X" seemed to be most fitting. It has many informal names. Looked great no matter what name we use!

Mike Jones and I did a photo sequence of the Werner X formation from 13 Apr 2008 0105UT to 0320UT from Ft Worth, TX last night. If anybody can help me post the 1.8Mb .avi email me privately. I would love for all of you to see it. We used Mike's Takahashi TAO130S and a Canon XTI. The prime focus shots were taken at ISO 200 at 1/500sec. These were underexposed for the X and we only managed keeping the last 7 images of the sequence to make the movie.

It gave a nice showing on the west coast also. I didn't even know it was coming.

There was also a nice occultation of 10 Canceri while it was going on. My photo of that is garbage.

All in all a good night.
