Found in Coma Berenices, M53 is a small, compact but rather bright Globular Cluster. With the Moonlight washing out a large part of the nightsky, many of the fianter stars of this Globular were just beyond resolving.
The main body of the cluster, however, resolved fairly well considering the lighting conditions. I will be revisiting this Globular on a Moonless night.

Wade,
Excellent drawing of M-53. I find globulars in general to be very challenging to sketch. I have never drawn this one. I use this globular as a starting point to star hop over to M-64 the black eyed galaxy. Very nice post.

Wade,
An excellent observation of the globular cluster M53/NGC 5024 in Coma Berenices. It appears as a delicate flower in the spring sky. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
I miss all of my friends on the forum. I hope to observe myself soon.

May I add my M53 sketch too?

Wade,
My observation of M53 with a pair of binoculars came to my mind, when I read your post. M53 is a fairly bright object. Considering the aperture and magnification you used, it is a tough target to resolve. And you show that fact so well in the sketch of yours.

Ferenc,
An excellent observation of M53. Your observation records much detail throughout this interesting globular cluster. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
