Does anyone remember the old bellows adapters that used to go on cameras for macro photography and slide copying and such? What would happen if you put one of those on a camera before you attached it to your scope? Wouldn't that give you greater magnification without as much loss of light?
What you need is a simple Eyepiece Projection adapter. It seals all the extra light out and is very stable.
Note: Magnifying an image is only used on bright objects like planets and the Moon. The dim stuff will be so dark after magnification (high focal lengths) that the exposures would be hours for one shot. DSO's need to be at f6 or lower with film and any kind of magnification greatly increases the effective focal length to make it very difficult to capture with film.
