Well I have a new Skynyx 2.0 camera, new laptop and motorised filter wheel ready to go.
Unfortunately my new laptop with Windows XP is not accepting the Lumenera camera driver, so I can't use it!
The error I get is as per below and the camera driver does not install: -------------------- "Please make sure you have finished any previous set up and closed other applications "
Error Code: -5009 : 0x80040806 Error Information: >Ctor\IScriptWrapper.cpp (27) >Ctor\ObjectWrapper.cpp (163) >Ctor\ObjectWrapper.cpp (391) >Kernel\Component.cpp (1163) >Kernel\CABFile.cpp (384) >SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (1526) PAPP:SKYnyx Software PVENDOR:Lumenera Corporation (http://www.lumenera.com) PGUID:160E4874-F3BD-4ABE-A3F9-3B654341B9E3 $11.0.0.28844PAK @Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) IE 6.0.2900.2180
------------------------
I have been in touch with Lumenera. They asked me to close Photoshop and all other applications. Did that. Then they suggested to Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield on the Windows Explorer -> Rename the "Install Shield folder" to "Old Install Shield" -> Run the installer should work fine. -> Rename the Folder back to Original name.
I tried this as well but no change. Same message!
Can anyone with a bit of know how suggest anything else?

If you can, try installing it on another XP Machine. If it works then that leaves you with a computer configuration problem...not the camera.

first what windows xp version are you running. second do you have xp sp 2 installed if not get it from Microsoft site. remove all drivers and software related to the device. install the service pack and make sure you visit the update site to get your system up to snuff. then install the software and the drivers usually it does this for you. you should now be able to install without errors if you get errors we can go from there if not then reboot the system. plug the devices (camera etc.) into system and make sure xp sees them and let it find the drivers for the devices. this should allow everything to work now if not get back to me. doc

All fixed. Thanks for comments. Deleted both Lucam and the driver and re-installed both dowloading the driver from the LuCam website this time. Whatever it was it's all fixed now. Now just waiting for my license key and we are away!
