I don't care whether the Ethos has 20 elements or what the lenses are made of. With performance that incredible (and it is!) it makes no difference to me. BTW, I guessed between $400 and $500.

I would guess that they would price it slightly higher than the 31 in price... citing today's higher R&D costs.

I dunno; so far all TV eyepieces have increased in price over their intro prices.

News from TeleVue today--it's $620 retail.
Now, who won the poll?

Yep - I just got my "do you want to buy it at this price" confirmation email...

I said "yes" - based on my pre-order date, I should be (hoping!) in the first tranche of shipments at the end of this month... the second tranche is supposedly end of October...

We shall see how long I hold onto my 12T4...

I am going for it too. Im forgoing buying a 12mmt4 and am selling my 17mmt4 as it has virtually the same fov and should have much higher contrast. But did I do the RIGHT THING!!!!

I need that whole brightness/contrast thing explained to me again. I need to find the thread, review, or report which educated me on the topic. Does the contrast at higher power trump the brightness at a large exit pupil?

And now for a completely different topic,,,
Quoting Larry Geary:
"One possibility is that TeleVue might take the Ethos design and adapt it to an 82 degree field, creating a Nagler Type 7. Giving up the extra AFOV might yield more eye relief. That might be of interest to those who say they don't want or need a 100 degree AFOV but like other aspects of the design. TeleVue did something similar when they used technology developed for the Radian to create the Nagler Type 4."
Now that would be cool for us glasses wearers!

I've had my Ethos for about 2 months now. The CN review pushed me over the edge and I had to have it.

It's the only EP that has actually made me motion sick (just a tad, folks!) while I was slewing while looking through it. Now THAT'S a wide FOV!!!
