Olympus OM4ti and astrophotography
      #2359686 - 04/29/08 01:14 PM

Several years ago (about 5 to 6 years) I accepted among other things, several Olympus 35mm SLRs and accessories in a trade deal. All the cameras worked fine and I used the OM 1 cameras for astro work but I never used the OM4ti. I don't believe there is any use for this camera in astrophotography, but I'm not absolutely certain. So my question is this...

*Does the camera have any special attraction as an astro camera?

*If not, has it been completely displaced by digital cameras, or is it still coveted by certain people for certain uses?

Thanks for any information offered.

The OM4Ti was sort of the last great flagship of the OM lineup.
The body is Titanium, it was all fully gasketed and sealed. It went for $900 when new and is still in demand by some. I had always thought about trying to get my hands on one.

Thank you huckabuck and Old Dinosaur for the input. I have both an OM4 and an OM4ti in that trade I mentioned above. I'll try putting them on eBay and see if I can generate some interest. Even if I sell them at a fraction of their worth, at least someone will be getting some use out of them. Thanks again for your help!
