Light pollution discussion on CNN blogs new
      #2359466 - 04/29/08 11:36 AM

A little story about light pollution generated some interesting comments. (and some ignorant comments as well)

So, the man who throws glass could not resist wading into the fray.

(CN'er Phil Creed made a nice statement as well)

Mike,

It was refreshing to see it on a major website like CNN. It's about time we got the discussion going on a national stage.

Clear Skies,
Phil

We are replacing all the outside lighting in the complex where I live. We are trying to go greener. I have talked them into going with lights that reduce light pollution. Also they are going to have deflectors on them to deflect the light down. The present lighting projects up and down the top of the pole is well lit. I explained that we could get away using less power saving money there. It has been passed by the board of directors & will be installed before the winter.

It was a small personal campaign of mine. I WON! I do believe now changes can be made even small ones.

Small changes eventually lead to large changes!

Thanks for letting CN know, that it is possible to win a victory against huge odds.
