Collecting Meteorites in Antarctica
      #2367913 - 05/02/08 10:53 PM

An interesting video narrated by a member of an ANSMET team who spent 7 weeks down under & combined with her other members found over 1,300 meteorites!

You're welcome Carol.
Considering it's length, i thought it was cool the whole way through. It was on my level
It had to be bittersweet to find that big Martian specimen knowing it may hold new info, yet can't be used for civilian collections. Still that had to be a rush everytime you seen one laying there, itching to be picked up.

I just can't even begin to imagine what that would have been like!

Very cool (so to speak...). I can't imagine living for seven weeks with those boots she described (my feet get cold even when I'm observing at temps in teh 40's.

Can you imagine finding and bringing back 1300 meteorites? That's just amazing. Thanks for sharing that link.

I'm sure if i was there for 7 wks, my mind would start wandering & i'd be envisioning a scenario from The Thing. The Kurt Russell version of course.
