Anyone know who sells the tent type portable domes? I would like to find one that I can set up in my back yard and take to star parties, etc.

Yo! Hey. You can make a nice portable observatory out of a deer hunting blind.
The Kendrick type tents are just that, a tent with a removable top. They don't do much to stop dew or wind.
I made a rotatable 6x6x8 observatory out of a deer blind. The whole thing sets up in under 10 minutes and basically fits in a bag about the size of a golf bag, (not counting the base which currently would be like transporting an ironing board).
Somewhere I did a thread on it, how to build it. Search for... "Portable Observatory from a deer hunting blind". I posted it in the equipment discussion forum, didn't know there was one for an observatory at the time.
Basically the whole thing would cost under $500 bucks but would take about a day of 'modifications' and building with simple tools.
Basically it's a self erecting tent that has a diamond opening up one side and into the top. The base is three sided so it can be rolled up to or away from the telescope and tripod. It blocks wind and dew, and at star parties I can close the diamond opening so that I can leave the telescope set up overnight. The base is on lockable caster type wheels so it can rotate. It has enough room for me, a chair, a computer table and my 10" SCT with dew hood.
Anyways, if you need any additional info, check my thread there or feel free to send me a message.
If this works, here's the thread address...
