I had L2-L5 fused about three years ago; hopefully the observatory will negate the need for lifting anything heavier than a Nagler eyepiece. Regards and keep us posted. I have been tacking care of my mom since she had hip replacement surgery. We have our first snow of the year, so I have to check out the roof. Later, and happy holidays. Came very close, but the body started to heal its' self so I backed off. Took over two years though. With degenertive disc diease you have a tougher case. Probably genetics in your case; mine was just too many hard falls and such. When you look at the mechanics of a back walking up right does not seem to be such a great idea. I was unloading Simi trucks for 5 years. that didn't help eather. I quit my job last week. So now I'll have to think ovf something els. The day will probably come when I can no longer lift heavy scopes and mounts; a heck of a prospect with a progressive case of aperture fever! If the human back were an aircraft, it would have been grounded decades ago for bad design!
