M3 in Canes Venatici
      #2374357 - 05/06/08 06:38 AM

A couple of days ago a wonderful Globular of the northern skies was the target of my 12"/5.3:

Bigger: M3

Itīs a composite of two images. A Kodak TP hyp. (at 65 minutes) was combined with a Fuji SHG 200 (at 45 minutes).

Even "live view" through an ocular is spectacular!

Any comments are as always welcome!

M3 was spectacular with my 7" Intes last weekend, too. This is a great photo, very rich in stars, well done!

Hi alls,

nice comments, thank you! Indeed, hypered TP and normal color film seem to be a right way to enhance image resolution.

Sharp and crisp image Ralph. My monitor displays the core as an ice blue with coloured stars mixed in.

A question for you. You are working a combination of interesting films. Have you played much with varying the exposure times eg: a shorter TP and a longer colour exposure? Any change to the result?

I am really enthusiastic about this type of enhanced photography, and happy to see someone working in a different direction. Keep at it. Always more fun being outside the box!

Igor

Hi Igor,

first off all: thank you very much!!! I have not played much with varying times yet. So far, the TP is exposured longer as the color film because imho TP brings a very good resolution for the image. Color film has less contrast and resolution and is used only for color information.
