Excellent video! I give it two thumbs up.

Not really, esp. when the guys are looking through the EP with the scope cap on

Fireball, the sun was out and as always, safety comes first haha. Thanks for the comments everyone, we had a lot of fun making it and hopefully it will help people who are looking for information on the scope while entertaining them too!

"Safety, Safety, Safety" as a drill sergeant once said "Is one of the most important factors in life".

It cool that you're having fun in Astronomy and providing a resource for other amateurs out there looking for information.

Here's a photo of my 12.5" split tube dob. Local ATMer made it a number of years ago.

The photo is from an observing session a few nights ago...very cold!

Cheers,
Mike

This picture pretty much sums up my experience with astronomy so far. The scope has yet to see first light as the weather has been terrible at best the past few weeks.

sorry for size

Images removed by moderator. Not only are they way oversize and therefore not allowed, they are of Maksutov Cassegrains which belong in the Cats & Casses forum.

Here is my "Sweet Sixteen", a 16"F4 made by JP Astrocraft (John Pratte). My wife says it's so good looking that if I ever get tired of looking through it we'll just put it in the living room and look at it instead.
