Wow Doug, Too bad it is a full moon because the skies are soooo clear. Get up early tomorrow and enjoy Jupiter!
Congrats. Bob
It is set up and ready for Jupiter, assuming I can wake myself up. Been a long day today, but worth it! BTW, I couldn't help but look at the moon a bit, and I had almost forgotten the gasp factor when observing with a ZOC mirror.

The proof that my wife is a saint. I love the Z10: bagged two supernovae (SN 2011dh and SN 2011ef), four quasars (3C 273, Mkr 421, Mkr 205, and Bl Lac), and Polarissima Borealis with it. The last three were tough! The 18" Spacewalk - aka Bertha Butt - makes it look easier.

Bertha Butt? Hilarious! I wonder how many people remember "Troglodyte"? Nice scopes, BTW.

I must confess ... it was my wife's idea, she's good with names. There is a funny video on the internet of that song. I got BB a year ago, she's # 8 of 14 Spacewalk made; I'm the third (and last!) owner.

Tonino, It is funny that I seem to be an astral conduit for great telescopes. I helped you get Bertha Butt and also recently helped Doug get his new-to-him third 14.5" Starmaster. What fun. You guys both have absolutely fantastic performing/good looking scopes. Bob Schilling

Here is my "Behemoth" a 17.5" Newtonian after a night of imaging. The guidescope is a Televue NP-101 (a great scope in its on right). The scope is mounted on a Parallax Instruments HD200C. That is 150lbs of counterweights.

I wish I had good pictures some to show. I was chasing collimation issues (the secondary mount seems to move just a tiny bit when the scope is repositioned, but on an f4.1 mirror that is enoungh to matter). The scope was originally designed for visual observing so my DSLR will not focus. I am going to have to reposition the mirror cell closer to the front.
This was my first time out with a guide scope and autoguider. I hoped I would be able to shim the dovetail on the guide scope to get it coaxial with the main scope but no such luck -- I will have to get adjustable rings for it.

My two scopes at Julian Starfest:
Green guy on the right is a 6" f5 that started out life as a Celestron Omni XLT 150. I built a carbon fiber tube for it and replaced the focuser with a JMI ev3n. It's my imaging rig and is currently on my new Atlas mount.
The scope on the left is a 8" f8 I picked up for free and am in the process of restoring. It was built by an ATMer back in the 70's and sat unattended in the garage for years. A friend found it in a vacant property he was clearing out and gave me a heads up. Since I picked up it I've taken every thing apart, given it a good cleaning and repaint. The mirror (UPCO) is still in great shape and I'm planning on using it for planetary imaging.
I've also got a XT8 but it looks pretty beat up at this point in it's life.

Here's my 10" Dobsonian, and hopefully soon-to-be on an equatorial mount in the near future for video-astronomy and most importantly sketching with such a system.
Clear skies,
