Awesome scope! I'd like to see more pictures of that. It must collapse into a very compact structure. You should post pictures on the ATM forums here on Cloudy Nights. It's an awesome group of people there who would love to see this.

Nothing fancy. Just a little SP-C6 on an AT Voyager. I also upgraded the stock finder to an Orion 6x40.

Hi Shawn,

The scope is my own creation. And design? Little help from Strock.

Are these open (tubeless) Dobs harder to keep clean or dust-free than a common solid tube Newt?

Of course! But I'd guess that part of that reason is all the more places you can take them... - j

Besides dust, wouldn't stray light pose a serious problem with a tubeless Dob?

Still, that's probably one of the more impressive, minimalist Dobs I've seen yet.

Those tubeless models (or any scope, really) can be baffled from stray light at the focuser. The issue is not so much stay light getting in the optical path, but rather light getting into the focuser.

Does it have a shroud? Even makes the Obsession U/C's look heavily armoured!

Dust can be a problem. For dew I am going to try a fan blowing across the surface of the mirror. Very little stray light reaches the eyepiece because of the spider being shaped to double as a baffle.
