I'd post a pic of my reflector, but you can get a better picture at the vendor's website, as it is a commercial 'scope.

I moved to a different reflector setup to focus on Imaging, the C10 was just suffering in the wind. It has changed roles and now is used for "entertaining family/friends visually" while I spend most of my time now with these:

The reflector is the one on the left.
This is at Northwoods Starfest this past weekend. 2 excellent nights.

Finally got around to posting a pix of mine. Nothing too fancy, 12" DSO on custom Baltic Birch base. OTA Mods include:
--Replaced collimation screws and springs with the 12" Lightbridge set from Scopestuff.
--Fabricated a rear cell baffle plate to direct all fan airflow through the tube. Full cool-down within 30 minutes.
--Fully flocked tube. In addition to improving contrast, flocking also provides some interior protection from dew formation.
--Added rail counter-balance kit, allowing good balance with my heavier eyepieces without resorting to resistance clamping.
--Reworked and fine-tuned focuser; stock GSO dual-speed is very smooth and enjoyable, thanks for the instructions Pollux!
--Replaced stock 8x50 straight-thru finder with Telrad. Never received the RACI finder I was supposed to get, but haven't missed it at all.

This scope has what I feel are VERY GOOD optics. On nights of good to very good seeing, 400x is possible without image breakdown, and tracking afforded by the birch base is effortless. An Obsession it ain't, but I'm not concerned. At the moment I'm a one scope man and very happy.

Here's an invite for you to come on over to the dark side and look into the world of building your own reflector. It is ever so much easier than you think. Click to see a slide show of the last 25 years of scope building, starting with my first scope, a styrofoam 20", going thru lots of different scopes, from travel scopes to a couple of 36s, and ending with a 42" that resides in its own dome.

Telescope building is a rewarding hobby that can be a lifetime of fun. Below is my 24". It weighs 160 pounds, sets up in a few minutes, and provides views that will keep anyone busy for a lifetime. slide show

Heres my planetary imaging rig...

Skywatcher 8" F/6 Newt on EQ6 Pro 5x Powermate + Phillips SPC900NC.

The Skywatcher 8" started life as a Dobsonian, however imaging planets with the dob got frustrating.. FAST! The EQ6 Pro is now the centre of my astronomy world

Hi AlexN

I have a Skywatcher 8" f/6 Dod (same as yours)
and I'm tests it on a EQ-5 mount, but every time i move
the tube in a different direction the primary mirror decollimate,
it happens the same with yours?

Thank you

Gor

Hi Paulo,

I dont have any problems with collimation at all actually, I've not collimated it in about 2 months and its still accurate enough for planetary imaging... I check it before and after every night, but it VERY rarely needs adjustment.

Have you tightened the locking screws?
