I just paid 330$ to get a set of used legs to replace the hacked off ones that came with a previous auction win. This will complete a Model #150, restoration, I have the mount and tray. Yes I am officially a nutjob.
Now I need your help. One of the attachment points for the tray is missing and I will need to reconstruct it (or all three for a uniform appearance). Anyone have a close up photo of the rod and 2 clamps? Or any helpful advice?

Yeah, I'm a nut job too. I just bid $276 for the 4" Alt-Az Mount that the same seller had up for sale - and I still lost!

I won't mention who won the bid (he may not want the publicity) but i lost to the same Alt Az auction but my highest bid was $250.

As long as it stays in the Classic Scopes Family... that's OK by me!

Hi Doug,
Back to your question... after all it IS your thread!
I have the Model 160 with the black aluminum tripod support. Would pictures of that help you or is mine different from your model?

Doug yours has a standard small bolt running thru a hole in the leg that the clips clip onto. Your new legs should have them already but the guy said he was missing one. Dont feel bad I paid $270 for the mint shelf that sold!! Here is a shot of the legs that really go with your alt az 4" 150. I have both these and the standards, but like these better for trasporting the mount around because they fold and are adjustable. The straight leg setup bolts/pins go thru the wood legs in the middle and the clips clip right on them. easy cheesy Japaniesy

Closer look! On the standard 152 legs you purchased the little rod has nuts on it and it is just bolted thru the wood leg. The eyepiece tray clips are the same. A true 160 shelf is a big clunky chunky black T shaped clock shelf with big black screw together parts that hold it to the legs.

Doug, As the photo show, that is just a piece of stainless steel rod, threaded on each end. It is held in place on each end with a stainless steel nut which is recessed into the side of the tripod. I hope this helps.

Based on the pictures, my tripod center support is different. It's thick aluminum that is supposed to hold the weighted clock drive. So you are better off using their great examples!

congrats doug you beat me out as i bid on mount and tripod. i won the mount but i am glad someone here got it if not me. i am getting a complete 152 next week and i wanted to be able to swap out eq mount for altaz. i guess i still can but it would have been easier to swap out ota than mount and ota. i have noticed the forum has been real quiet when unitron items come up on the bay or am. show us some pictures when you get restoration done. ill get some pictures up after i go pick up my 152 next week. congrats again. brian
