Moon-Saturn-Regulus new
      #2391340 - 05/13/08 12:30 AM Attachment (24 downloads)

I was able to view the conjunction of the Waxing Gibbous Moon (8.3 days old), Saturn (3.9 degrees from the Moon), and Regulus (4.4 degrees from the Moon). Saturn and Regulus were approximately two degrees apart. Haze surrounding the Moon provided a faint glow. I hope that you like it.

A digital rendering produced in Photoshop CS3.

Great sketch Carlos, here in chicagoland, i saw the exact same view, we even had high clouds that gave a similar halo look, the haze meant steady skies and i had one of my best lunar views ever in my 6" achro unbelievable detail on the terminator, i saw the transverse rille that crosses the alpine valley and looked desperatly for the alpine valley rille, anyway congrads on the great sketch that is very realistic and even suggest the mood or atmophere of the night bravo

Just a spectacular capture of how it looked last evening.
As T5 said above it was wonderful viewing last evening in Chicagoland.

Fantastic and extremely realistic rendering, Carlos. You've captured that soft glow perfectly.

Carlos,

This isn't the first time I've thought I missed a celestial show only to find one of your renderings that is like being there next to you. I love the way the Moon looks. Thank you for posting--clear skies and time off!

Best,
