I wondered if any of the guys have used one of these. I did try the Trico Skywindow but didn't work out for me. The mirror was just not up to Mags above 10x.I know someone who is using the Oberwerk version at 16x.
Thanks in advance.

I have a Trico, as does a friend of mine as well... the trick is if you're using them at higher powers, you need to go with the upgraded (higher quality) mirrors that Trico offers. At that, most people find that 20x is the highest power under any circumstances that they work at. I used mine at 16x with the Gold mirror, and it's exactly as advertised. Great.

Hi Wes, I did have the Gold mirror upgrade. I must say that there are no markings on the mirror to say it was the upgraded one. It didn't work out for me.To be honest I wouldn't buy again from Trico.I just put it down to experience. An expensive experience at that.
I am pleased to hear that the Trico did work for some.

Hi Wes, I had a pair of Pentax 20x60's which were fine binoculars on the tripod mount I had. I tried to use them with the Skywindow and the images were shocking. They were very soft and not usable. I tried moving them back from the mirror and it made no difference.I tried allowing the mirror to cool, same again. I found they were best at 10x.
Just didn't work for me.

For the POOR folks------ I bought a first surface mirror from Surplus Shed and mounted it on a small piece of plywood with two L brackets --- works fine for 10x50s -- mirror was $20.
