Beautifully rendered! Even if I had looked at this without first knowing what object it was, I would have instantly recognized it. The characteristic outline of the brighter stars always evokes an image of a knight's shield. Needless to say, this is an object I come back to time and again throughout the summer.
As pointed out, this cluster is indeed visible to the unaided eye. And I find that the sky need not be superbly dark; moderately decent nights allow it to be glimpsed without optical aid.
