Fujinon FMT-SX - 10x50-advice? new
      #2408894 - 05/20/08 05:09 PM

It's tax rebate time, and I'm shopping for a pair of these, given the reviews I've read here.

I stumbled on an online vendor, Eagle Optics. Are they reputable? I ask because they list Fujinon Polaris 10x50 FMT-SX binoculars for $599.00 (armored or unarmored). Everyone else offers them for $660.00 to $700.00 or more.

Buying binoculars is one time that I do not want to be blinded by stars in my eyes. So, thanks in advance for your advice and observations.

Jas ,

I don't live in America , and have never purchased from Eagle Optics , nor have I any connection with the company , but I have a few American friends who HAVE purchased from the company , and I've heard nothing but good things about the vendor .

Regards
Kenny

Eagle Optics is one of THE best!

I have purchased binoculars for myself and my wife, and their service is excellent. Their return policy is A+.

Jas, I have to agree with Kenny. I have bought two thing off of EO. One was a good buy on a Nikon 20-45x60mm Fieldscope and the other was a 2 1/2 power extender that fit my 10SE as well as other binoculars. I was happy and glad to do business with them. I had a chance to use the Fujinon 10x50 FMT-SX and found it excellent. By all means order it.

I concur, Eagle Optics is a good company. Very nice to deal with over the phone, and good prices and service.

Jas,
I ordered my FMT-SX 10x50s from eagle optics. No problems at all. Heard nothing but postives about them.

I've had good luck with EO as well as the Fujinon 10x50.

I would have gone with Eagleoptics as they seem to be the cheapest and everyone says only good things about the service, but they don't ship overseas. In the end i went with Company7.

I'm sure you'll have no problems.

Just a negative comment about the weight.

I have no experience with the 10x50s, but I did have the 7x50 fujis and decided to sell them. Of course, the optics were great, the build like a tank; but for me they were just too heavy to handhold and too small for a tripod.

On the positive side, they were the binoculars that I took to the east coast to view the Transit of Venus in 2004, and to New Zealand in 2003 to see the southern skies due to build, durability, and optics.
