Hi everyone,
I haven't seen this posted but Paul Rodman has updated his blog indicating he is in alpha testing for AP V2. One step closer to releasing a new and improved version 2.

That is great news! I recently learned of this program and I have been testing AstroP this weekend. This is a wonderful program, very feature rich and a fantastic manual! This is just the freeware version! Now, the best news (at least for me) is, AstroP plays very well with Cartes du Ceil 2.76 and my AirCable 3 wireless serial network! I'm using a Celestron 11 GPS with firmware 1.6, after setting up the Telescope communications options in AstroP (the Auto feature did not find my scope) and clicking telescope online I was slewing the scope all over the sky with no wires attached with CDC 2.76 keeping up the pace. Communications between the scope and laptop was maintained at distances up to 35 ft. I did loose communications when the laptop was in another room. Seems that communication is "line of site" only (at least with my setup). This is what I have been hoping and looking for for over a year now!!!!!
AstroPlanner, your the best!!
Did I read that in v2 one will be able to import pics and/or drawings one makes of objects as part of the observations section (like is done in Deepsky xx)? I could really use such a featrure. My notes and sketches are getting out of hand and hard to find with 30 years worth running around my office (sort of like kids).

Yup, I've been told that you're going to be able to import your sketches and photos. ;-)

I have been waiting for version 2. My only compliant about AP was it didn't support ASCOM, so when I got my Paramount I couldn't use it for scope control. I have been using SkyTools. When 2.0 is released I can finally go back to AP.
