Decent write up Uncle Rod. Very decent indeed.
One of my favorite pieces of software (and I haven't even pulled down the most recent version yet). Glad you mentioned the size of the download. That should clue some folks in as to scheduling the file transfer.

Yeppers. Luckily for most of us, these days the formerly scary 400mb is, "Oh, 20 or 30 minutes."

I have the newest version on my laptop.
Good stuff.

Great write up!

If it might help, here's a beginner's tutorial for it that was done a few years back to help get people started.

A very helpful article. Thoughtful and candid, very knowledgeable, typical of Rod. He is surely one of the best people posting to the astronomy internet, in terms of helping beginning and intermediate amateur astronomers. Thisw particular article is sure to help me in my lunar observations.

As for the writing style....er...uh... how's that again?...

It's a really helpful article which triggered me to successfully update my version.

One thing I'd like to add: Did Uncle Rod ever consider that there are some strange and peculiar people around somewhere (like us Europeans) who do not have american english as their first language? (Just kidding!)
