I just finished all the objects in the Messier catalog last weekend. Do you have any suggestion on the further deep sky object observation after this? Thanks.

Congratulations for completing the Messiers!
Any of these lists or a combination of all of them would seem like the logical next step: Caldwell Catalog RASC's Finest of the NGC Herschel 400
The Saguaro Astronomy Club has a great number of lists to complete as well, including their version of the Best of the NGC (which substitutes some of RASC's list with some objects lower in declination).

Try the Sharpless Catalog there are some really neat ones just at the meridian these nights down in Scorpius.
Don:t get too hung up on lists, as Mr. Bill points out the Barnard objects are fantastic but usually don:t make lists. Maybe try observing in and near the Messiers you already hunted. Once you see the 2 dark nebulae over M24 it never looks the same, there:s also a nice NGC object in there. Next to M4 there:s a nice NGC and dark neb north of Antares under a dark sky.

While my eyes are adjusting early in the eve of viwing I play with the Messiers cuz they're cool and easy. Then I tend to expand to the local brighter NGC and IC objects. A bunch of the pk - planetary nebs are pretty do-able too. A combo of S&T PSA, Stellarium, and CDC/Skychart are a big help in finding stuff and keeping viewing to specific sky areas. Congrats on finishing your Messier list. Clear skies... Steve

I've trimmed the overlap between several AL lists to create a compilation of 409 DSOs and doubles. There are a few judgement calls but it makes a pretty good collection for the beginner/intermediate observer.
PAC Alcor Lee Farrar has made it available as a pdf.

Great suggestions!
Two other DSO lists occur to me:
Orion Deep Map 600
and the
Bennett Catalog
The Deep Map 600 is a foldable map sold by Orion Telescopes, which is reportedly highly usable. The Bennett Catalog appeared in the July 2006 issue of Astronomy Magazine.
The underlined phrases above are links that will take you to web pages.
The first has links to 3 lists, for DSOs, double stars, and variables stars organized by constellation. You can copy and paste the objects lists into a spreadsheet. The second has information about the Bennett Catalog and downloadable spreadsheet files of the objects.
