M104 sketches: 4 in vs 12.5 in aperture

The link takes you to a post on another forum and contains a sketch done on June 2 with a 4 inch refractor and a sketch done in May 2007 with a 12.5 inch Dob. Both, like many of mine, are done by studying the output to an astro video camera on a high resolution monitor. I thought some folks might be interested in the sketches. I also slipped in an encouragement to sketch since that group is generally not predisposed to pull out a sketch pad. Hope you enjoy.

Interesting to compare, Roland.

The camera has a kind of similar response to aperture as the human retina. The camera has the higher gain, but the human eye has the larger dynamic range.
