I think thats partially correct, but also due to the fact that Windows is so ridden with security holes that it makes a delicious target.

Many OS's have security holes, just your more used ones get the serious attention to find them.

However; that said - FreeBSD is the one the use (and the core of Apple OS X) for a buttoned down OS - provided the user has turned off ALL unused and unwanted services.

Take a lesson from Orocle - don't brag about your security unless several third parties have fully tested it. You could or will end up with egg on your face.

Happy anniversary! I hope you remembered to give Mrs. Ron a nice treat.

It's always too late. I didn't figure out how to impress girls until after I got married.

Tsk, you shouldn't bother with PC's or Macs, a true elitist^H^H^H^H enthusiast will use proper hardware that runs a decent OS

Mmmmm dual UltraSparcs....

I just found an Apple store at the Biltmore so a visit is in order. However; I think a Mac is bit off. Still leaning towards a dual G5. I checked out the iMac at CompuUSA yesterday and it is very nice.

I use the dual bullfrog at work and on the field, they work great if you want to drop the cash and get into this type of dimension, its different.

Texas instruments is where Sun is having it's ultrasparcs made.Ultrasparc-IV's with dual cores are available now and I am waiting to get my hands on one. A dual 64-bit 900Mhz UltraSparc-III Blade 1000 with 2gb memory, a 72gb 15k rpm fiber channel disk, dvd, 5USB ports and firewire port is running about $1600. Running Bochs on this machine smokes the typical PC beigebox, but then again a 1.3Ghz G4 powerbook running Bochs compares well with the typical PC beigbox.

I have had my "new" mac laptop for about a month now. I can only say positive things about both my ibook and the powerbook. My wife keeps asking why her Dell laptop is so heavy and the Apple is so light. She also keeps saying that editing video is much easier on my mac than her PC laptop. I am using AstroPlanner, xephem and equinox. Equinox can even work with SBIG cameras and with webcams. I've already converted my son and wife, now I have to get the rest of the worl to turn away from the dark side (I've watched the StarWars EPIII trailer too many times)
