I just ordered a LS60T/Ha B600 this afternoon from OPT without the upgrade and I'm #9 on the list without the upgrade. Keith said it may not be until November before I see my scope which is fine as it is going to be a Christmas present for the bride. And yes...it is something she actually asked for!

That seems like a long time to be only #9 in the list. Hopefully, it will be sooner.

*wink* Of course Dan, we understand. Don't we all? Of course it is for your wife. *wink* *cough*
I took the plunge as well though I ordered the LS60TDS w/ BF1200. I figure it will be a while before I see it, but I am not in any real hurry. I was going to Russia for the eclipse but plans fell through so I am enjoying the clear (ish) Colorado evenings and playing with my nightime scope for now.

Trying to decide. If the standard focuser does not have brass compression rings and does not have a focus lock then I will upgrade.

Well then it wouldn't be your scope then, would it? I'm sure the bride will share though. Are you going to get one for Cuzimthedaughter?

I'm getting a 60mm doublestack for my cats. They are really excited about it, but I wish they'd quite pestering Rikki about delivery dates. The phone charges are starting to really add up.

I understand completely, Dan. I bought that ED80 for Paul for his birthday one year. I think he may have gotten a chance to use it a few times before I talked him into "upgrading" to a 66SD for his astro-imaging. So, um, the ED80 is mine now. Anyway, congrats on the new Lunt scope for the bride. May you have many clear days to share with her and the scope.
Jim, sure, blame it on the cats!

I want to use my Denk. bino's and they are really heavy with eyepieces. If I remember the Lunt had a compression ring. I'm starting to lean towards the FT, because I know it could support a lot of weight, not sure of the 10-1.

I just ordered a 60DS/1200 with upgrade and its for me and nobody else. I'm somewhere around the 20's, but I have 2 Ha scopes and the Sun is been very quiet, so I can wait with the rest of the group. I deceided to upgrade because of the ability to support more weight when using bino's.

That is a good point. I have a pair of Denk IIs and would really like to use them as well. That upgrade is looking better and better...

Today I contacted OPT and was told that they will receive their first Lunt shipment in November or December. I hope it isn't true but OPT has always given me reliable information. It seems Lunt has quite a backlog of orders. Oh well, I can wait and may even upgrade to a dual-stack.

Something else to consider , by pre-ordering we should be saving more than the price of an upgrade, so looks like a win/win situation to me.

I can understand if one is 20th in the list, but they were supposed to receive a shipment or two of the 60mm in July!
Who did you talk to at OPT? Are you sure you arent talking about when to expect shipment if orders are placed now?

Trever, I contacted Vincent Giordano, one of the managers. He said "first" shipment will be November or December. I didn't get a clarification of whether it's just the LS60THa or for everything. I sent him an email to clarify this.
