I think this is the most beautiful roll off roof observatory I have ever seen, but then again my tastes in architecture come from ancient Japan:

I'd have to agree. Certainly the most ornate rolloff I've seen.

While it may not be "my style", it certainly is rich, well crafted observatory.

Looks a lot like the enclosure for my hot tub! It sure would be nice to be able to roll off the roof over my hot tub.

Ptolemy's Cafe Seems to pop-up a couple of times a year as someone new discovers this beautiful observatory and wants to share it! Everytime I see it I wish I had the type of location that I could situate an obs like that in and the pocket book to be able to finance it! It is indeed a fantastic obs!

I agree his is one of the best out there.
I tried to incorporate some of his designs, at least what I could afford. I just love the hip roof design, and it makes good sense as well so as not to block the northern sky so much.

One of my favorites as well. But it's not just the observatory itself, it's the surroundings and the landscaping - the whole package that makes it look so nice.

Manny, Good one. I have seen this ROR before and am always impressed by its design, function and sheer beauty.

My wife has been resistant to the idea of a roll top observatory. Since we live in the city of San Diego (ie, high light pollution) I kinda see her point. That said, with a design like this?
