New R/A binoculars
      #2484175 - 06/26/08 10:47 AM

I see Garrett is now listing a 70mm Right Angle binocular- with Proprietary 20x/25x eyepieces... it looks a lot like the Apogee RA-88's... Suppose they're simply a copy that's masked down- or listed as a 70mm and not masked down? Curious to see what they're about. Would love to own a R/A binocular, but would like something a little bigger.

Some bino’s from Miyauchi 5x32 Binon's up through Garrett 20x110 Signature's,
Some telescopes from a Stellarvue 80mm NHNG up through a couple of 8” reflectors…
And a wonderful 4.25" Delmarva Shiefspiegler!
Some good friends, made here on C/N.
Oh- several cats and a wonderful wife!
Anyone want a cat???? :-O

All seems to come from here:

http://www.united-optics.com/products/Binoculars/Giant_Binoculars/BA6_Series/BA6.htm

I will buy a day or another the 100 mm here in Italy. It's the first time I see on sale the 70 mm version. Cheers.

I believe I've found the source of these... looks like the Orion BT-70, only comes with an extra set of 25x eyepieces. I would guess the Garrett's coming from the same source as the Orion's.

Hi Wes,
I mentioned these a couple of days ago in a post. I thought everyone must be asleep. I suspect that the Garretts will be well checked and collimated before despatch.

In the UK,Revelation are now selling the the 88mm's with four(4) sets of eyepieces. www.telescopehouse.com

AGREE!!! They're in the catalog... don't understand why someone's not attempting to bring them into this country.
