Hi All. Just curious, I have been looking for an eyepiece / filter set for my 8" dob and came across this one for $200 with 2" eyepieces. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!!

I believe those eyepieces are similar to the Orion Q70 and Agena 2" SWA eyepieces. That is certainly a very good deal! They are decent eyepieces for your 8" f/6 scope and will lend many nights of fruitful observations.

I have a $69 2" 40mm GTO eyepiece that works well in my 8" F6 Dob. That is a really nice bargain. I'm not sure if most of those filters will be useful but what the heck, I'll take 'em too!
Where oh where is my stimulus check?

That was my next question about the filters. I was a little curious about them since they don't say planetary filters, nebula filters, etc. If anyone else has anymore opinions, that would be great!

Well, the Moon filter and Polarizer would be usefull for low power viewing of the Moon. The others might be usefull on planets if you screw them onto the 2-1.25" adapter and use 1.25" high power eyepieces. It depends on the quality of the glass, as to how much if at all it will degrade your image at high powers. Personally, I don't use color filters that much, I prefer photographic filters like the FL-D and warming filters like the 81B.

Do you think I should go with this then? I'm not too sure. Thanks

Heck yeah! Even if the filters are junk (which they probably are not) you are getting three 2" eyepieces and a barlow for $50 a piece and a very nice case. Now these are not premium eyepieces, but for that money in an 8" Dob they should do rather well. Everyone's opinions vary about "good" performance with eyepieces so if they don't meet your standards you can certainly return it.

I have the Z, 2"EP kit. The only filters I have used are the Moon filter and Polarizer. The EP's arn't bad, out of the 70 degree field you get about 50/55 degree of good viewing,,, better than the EP"s that came with the scope. When using them in my 12"er I need to have the Paracorr in, helps alot.

Well I just bought it!! It should be here Friday (got fast shipping) since I might be going observing Saturday (depending on the weather) so I will let you know what I think of the kit! Thanks for the input. My next purchase will probably be a much needed observing chair.

A observing chair, will be the best money you spend for this hobby.

That's what I've heard . I should have that late this month or by mid august I'm hoping. Any recommendations?

There are a couple of threads ongoing in Equip right now on observing chairs. They should help answer any questions on a chair.
