OK it's only an 8", but it's my Dad's old telescope which Cary touched up and recoated for me. OWL is a class act folks, I tell you ... Cary got me the mirror in time for a star party on short notice, great shop.
Scope is a 8" Newt my Dad made from the 70's. Re-powder coated the mount, cleaned everything up, and Cary took care of the mirror. If you had seen the condition of the scope before you wouldn't believe it now. The mount is really a charm, weighs a ton too!
I got some great views last night (I don't suffer from the new scope curse for some reason), but as I don't get a good airy disk I'm wondering if there's a collimation problem.

Sorry Jay - I probably bumped you in the queue! Long story, I have a 12" I was trying to pull together for a Star Party, Cary put some time into it, but then it became clear the other parts wouldn't come together in time. So I switched gears to get the 8" ready in time, Cary worked weekends to do it for me.
Don't worry he'll take care of you, they're probably swamped right now. Awesome service, they've got a customer when I do my > 20" ...

Hi all,
Yes we're a bit busy right now, mainly due to the fact that I was ill last week with a summer flu. I'm working overtime right now in order to get the schedule back down to my normal quick turn around. I'm working on Jay's mirror right now - perhaps I will finish it on the 4th - sort of an independance day kinda thing for his scope...
All the best!

If your 4ths are anything like mine, Cary, I beg you, step away from the mirror! - j
