I'll post an image taken in each direction. This is a good site, but is about a twenty minute drive from Blythe in a four wheel drive jeep. The pictures weren't taken from exactly the same place and on different days, but are of the same area. Image 1: South, note the Native American dance or sleeping circles.

To the north unfortunately is found civilization. I don't want to mislead anyone. We do have cloudy days. In fact, as I recall, there was a cloud last February 30.

And just as your luck would have it, that inhabitant to the north has a porch light right?

And even an old condo? to the NW of the house. I don't think the porch light works.

Awesome everyone! Those observing sites are awesome! Moreover, the pictures also show that Earth is really beautiful as well.

Here's one of the desert dwellers' refuges - high on the Mogollon Rim, just under 7000' at a place we call Five Mile Meadow. Great when the summer temperatures down in the desert are brutal and 2.5 hours northeast of Phoenix:
And here's one of our primary winter sites, again about 2 hours from Phoenix - to the west and not too far from the California border:

Wow! A lot of very nice sites, folks.
Here's one that I've been to twice and both times we were scopeless. These photos were taken at the 11,800' elevation on top of the Sweetwater range north of Bridgeport Cal. This is a place I plan to take my Dob to later this summer. Again it is a Bortle class 1 site and at that elevation I would imagine it could be pretty nice.
The 1st photo is looking North. It was a VERY windy day (guessing 80+ mph)

And this is where we camp. It's a ghost town named Belfort and the cabin was constructed in 1880. This is at the 10,200' elev.

You're a brave one, Randy! I've read somewhere that above 10,000 feet, the sensitivity of your eyes starts to decrease from lack of oxygen. I wonder if that might be more true for those who live closer to sea level.
I know the sensitivity of my eyes decreases from lack of heat!
