Tomorrow, I'll trim my toenails - I'll report on how that turns out...
So I guess I've had only a bit less excitement than Paul and Eriker, and Gary...but that's what retirement is.
Toenail trimming went well. Found a small leak in the roof that needs attention (unrelated to toenails, AFAIK). Replaced (it finally came in) the circ pump that heats the hot water from waste heat from the A/C. Reading from the Dune series The Butlerian Jihad.
If one is a Sci-Fi buff, the Dune Trilogy (now at around 15 volumes), is engaging.

Received phone call from my daughter in Fla., yesterday. She has my grandaughter Gabby visiting for the summer. Seems the kids went to a neighbors to play. Gabby was playing on a trampoline and took a tumble. Broke her arm in 2 places. Off to the hospital to get it set. Come home and Gabby asks if she can go back over to the neighbors to play on the trampoline again . My daughter says no andexplains why, Gabby straight faced says to her' I guess I screwed up, can I go bike riding then?
Kids are fearless and resiliant. Oh, to be that young again.

Many years ago our son, Ian, was about 10 years old and broke his upper arm at the elbow falling from playground equipment, necessitating a cast from his wrist nearly to his shoulder. Many weeks later, as the cast was being removed, my wife noticed an odd groove in the cast below the elbow and asked him what caused it. He said, "That's where I hook the cast to swing from the monkey bars."

Or hardheaded - this couldn't be genetic, could it, Jim?
Closer to home, I hauled the Shop-Vac to the shower I'm redoing to suck up the remaining crud, only to find it wouldn't start, Nada, zip. So today, I took it apart and found the motor was more like a Tiki torch than it should be, even after doing maintenance (the failure was the fusible link that failed on temp - not a good sign). Trash. However, Karma ensued, and Home Despot had a Rigid top-of-the-line stainless steel on sale for $40 off, lifetime warranty...I do so love bargains...and I've tired of the Shop-Vac unreliability - this one had no more than three hours on it in two years.

Happy belated birthday, Lenny, I hope you had a great day!
Sorry to hear about Gabby's arm, Jim, but sounds like she's a typical resilient child.
