We're heading up to Tommy T's to help him trench in the power to the observatory. He's gonna try to get hold of Half Meter and I guess there's a small star party about 20 miles from him we'll try to hit Saturday.
You trying for your Messy-er Certificate Droid?

Scott; yeah after bumming around the sky for years but never making any sort of regimented observinf I finally decided I should at least make an effort to do something formal. So the Messeir club certifdicate being the easiest I went for it, I also wanted to do the lunar club , but I for the life of me I cant see a women in the moon or a man normally so I havent drawn either yet, lol. Im up like 25 or so messiers , all done last dark of the moon.I hope to knock off 15 or 20 more this time.

Andy, if you're doing the Astronomical League observing clubs, please try the Urban Club, Binocular Messier, and Double Star lists if you're interested. They're not too difficult but what you'll observe is very rewarding!

You might want to consider "Rusty's List" certificate. It consists of:
1. Mount the scope 2. Remove the lens cap 3. Look through the scope
Just send $25 for processing and mailing of the certificate.

I did that darn program a few years ago, even mailed in a check. I'm assuming the certificate will arrive the next time the RV drives through Phoenix, which might be NEVER!

SCAM!!!??? I TRUST people to actually have completed the List before requesting the certificate.
If there's any scam involved, I have been the innocent victim of it.

At Mary's place north of Sandusky. We might not go tho - maybe just observe from here. Dunno. Joe is planning on coming over, but Gary can't make it. Love to have you there if you can make it Jason.

We got back from Tom T's last night. Had a lot of fun with Tom and his family. It was great seeing Jason, Mindy and their little girl, Talia, as well as some of Tom's observing buddies, Joe, Brent, and Dave. Quite a little impromptu star party! The skies were absolutely beautiful!
On our way home yesterday, we dropped in at Gary's (halfmeter) place and went to lunch with him. We went to the Mongolian Grill where you create your own stir fry. That was a lot of fun too!
