I think that Meade should offer a upgrade kit for the older LX series to make them able to use the newer controller. I have noticed that the "Enter" key on my keypad is getting finicky the last two times I have had it out. I don't know if the Handbox control in Meades Autostar computer program can completely overide the handbox even for alignment.

completely different animals,
you could do it per say..but you would would be buying a new mount off astromart or the classified , and adding your old ota on it. they do come up every now and then, when people defork their scopes for gems.
other then that they have totally incompatable electronics.
