Everyone remembers their first...

Does that pertain to meteorites?

Anyway, I just got my first from a collector in our club...very cool. I really like having it setup in my office. It has gotten quite a few comments already.

Clear Skies and happy meteorite hunting!

Very Nice Piece of Canyon Diablo,Jeff .

I also like the display with the label and Riker Box.
I am always impressed with Canyon Diablo Meteorites. That was my first large Meteorite,Also.

It just seems right in owning a piece of what caused Meteor Crater in Arizona.

Thank You For Sharing Your First Time With Us Birthday Man(JeffS)

My first meteorites were a handful of small NWA 4293 chips - a classic H6 chondrite with shiny desert polish and high magnetic attraction. I bought them on a whim, cheap, from a collector who was selling off some of his smaller specimens to raise money for some bigger purchases. We had done a couple of gear deals on AM prior, so I didn't think twice about buying some meteorites from him.

When they arrived, they were small and unassuming, but what they represented was truly astronomical. I felt a sense of awe when I first held one. It was the first time I had ever touched a piece of something that is older than the Earth and comes from space. It was magical and addicting. The madness had started. I still have those small NWA 4293 fragments for sentimental value - they are what got me started.

my first was a little speck of Mars from Mike, then a speck of the Moon
I was very impressed, overwhelmed, to hold a piece of another planet/moon.
I have more now, many more, ?too many more.
