Supposely the new one's are better than the older explorer version, how so? Are they the same as Celestron bino's?

I have what I guess is the older version, purchased about 3.5 years ago. The bad news, I had to return the first two binos delivered due to absolutely obvious machining and optics issues (clearly nobody checked these before shipping them). The good news is that the third bino delivered is a champ (for that price range). I did have to align them myself but I expected that and it was easy to do.
