I was wondering if there is a DSO chart with Light Years posted? Kids wonder about how far something is when they are looking through my scope - I wanted to give them an idea - thanks!

The closest thing I know is The Atlas of the Universe website. It gives a good idea of the distance scales involved and lists some relevant object distances.

Try NED (Nasa Extragalactic Database). You will have to look up the data, but EVERY object is there.

Also check out the Logarithmic Maps of the Universe website. The maps cleverly show relative distances of many known objects in the entire universe, all in a single image. You may need to view the large image versions to read the small text labels, they are very large files, some over 12000 pixels long.
